Autobiography

Kevon E. Newman, the elder of Dameon and LaToyia, was born to Cary L. Caine and Doreen E. Newman on September 26, 1976. Maybe being a household name was embedded in Kevon's spirit as his mother, at the age of sixteen, once sang for D.C.'s E.U. However, her career was halted with the pregnancy of Kevon

Kevon also shared the same graduating stage as renown actor Edward Norton of Wilde Lake High in Columbia, Maryland.

In Kevon's early twenties, he desired to transcend his criminal enterprise and looked to role models such as Steve Francis of the Houston Rockets to which they shared the same middle school and science class in Takoma Park, Maryland. And though nine years a junior, Kevon also shared the same graduating stage as renown actor Edward Norton of Wilde Lake High in Columbia, Maryland. At the age of twenty-five Kevon packed his '85 Cadillac and moved to Georgia for a year.

Once the year culminated, Kevon sought to abide in San Jose, California. However, success had other ideas for Kevon for he moved to Los Angeles instead. Alone. Having written two novels during his stay in Georgia, Kevon was challenged to develop a teleplay by an old high school sweetheart, who worked for a major study at the time. This was the spark to which ignited the desire within Kevon to become a well-rounded scribe. And in recent years, Kevon penned several screenplays with Ramsey Gbelawoe, author of The Cookout. To further his independence as a solo artist Kevon is currently self publishing one of his novels,
Until A Man Dies.

In 2004, Kevon wrote, shot and directed his first short film Man In The Mirror. The film showcased at Laemmle Theater on Fairfax and Beverly, hosted by New York Independent Film Festival.

"Until A Man Dies" will scorch Baltimore like "The Wire".

Penned by Kevon Eugene Newman, ‘Until A Man Dies’, (358 pp. tpb $10.99), thoroughly reflects the actual violence plaguing Baltimore City and its authorities who valiantly protect it. ‘Until A Man Dies,’ does not glorify the criminal underworld. Yet, it sheds light on the numerous lives affected by suchtransgressions. The novel will be released to the public on March 20th, 2008.

In October of 2007, desiring to paint a vivid picture of his horror screenplay, Newman crafted nine visual pitches to accompany his confession-style query letter. In being exclusive, Newman mailed one of the nine packages to Toby Emmerich of New Line Cinema. Believing the visual pitch was real (containing bloody rubber appendages), Emmerich immediately notified Wilshire District’s Homicide Division. When Newman wrote a follow-up letter to clarify the misunderstanding, a legal response was provided by New Line Cinema.

Matthew Shack, co-founder of the internationally recognized online magazine, The Flow, says, "Kevon is an extremely talented individual. The manner in which he tells this story isn’t in third person, as most writers do. But he uses the unique style as that of a personal conversation. I can see this book becoming a great film, if Kevon should decide to develop the screenplay."

Terrisha Kearse, CEO of Driver Seat Productions, states, "When I read the book, I immediately hired Kevon to rewrite my dramatic screenplay, The Rewrite, simply because he writes with outstanding clarity. He made me laugh and cry. I believe he’s a rare writer, who’s headed toward a bright future."

Newman’s current goal is to develop a comedic screenplay once his second novel, For the Love of Hate is complete. Newman currently governs the website "Heartfeltwritersllc.com".
